I was sitting in my car on a cold winter morn
Listening to my music like I've always done before
When much to my surprise a man came up to me
“Can you spare some change? I need some food to eat”
I lowered down my window and gave the man a five
He told me it was special and thanked me with a smile
I told him I was sorry for that was all I had
He said it was a blessing for God has His own plan
And before he walked away a tear rolled from his eyes
He told me that he loved me and so did Jesus Christ
Pay it forward; lend a helping hand
Do it out of kindness; help your fellow man
Do it for your neighbor; a stranger on the street
Pay it forward to everyone you meet
I was sitting at the park relaxing for the day
Taking in the sunshine, I watched the children play
Sitting on a park bench was that poor old man
Reading from his Bible, a cross in his right hand
The children started flocking; it was a sight to see
He read them a few stories; they all began to sing
He pulled out from a bag and gave to every child
He gave them all a present; it came from that one five
And as they walked away a tear rolled from his eyes
He told them that he loved them and so did Jesus Christ
Pay it forward; lend a helping hand
Do it out of kindness; help your fellow man
Do it for your neighbor; a stranger on the street
Pay it forward to everyone you meet
I knew right at that moment I saw God's work at hand
A little act of kindness would travel across the land
Pay it forward; lend a helping hand
Do it out of kindness; help your fellow man
Do it for your neighbor; a stranger on the street
Pay it forward to everyone you meet
