Shallow Eyes
Shallow Eyes
By: Adam M. Snow
Look beneath my shallow eyes,
upon my soul for which you despise.
Your tainted hands upon my chest,
broken dreams; it failed the test.
Hearts pounding, skipping a beat,
tormented lies and sorrowful heat;
worlds passing, one by one;
alone, wishing to be undone.
I be a vision of a ghost,
look right through me, as you boast.
Wasting days in solitude;
alone, never meant to intrude.
I cry my many, tears in vein;
you ignore my one true pain.
I suppose I am to blame,
yet you say, I've brought shame.
