Christ the Cornerstone
The stone that the builders reject,
Is the stone that God did select;
And has become a cornerstone,
Which had suffered when all alone.
Many found this rock offensive,
Others found it apprehensive;
Having tripped over this large rock,
When blindly where they tried to walk.
God laid down a new foundation,
To become a new creation;
And so each of us can atone,
His Son was made the cornerstone.
For each of us that have proclaimed,
Are believers and not ashamed;
It is an honor to believe,
Knowing one day what we receive.
People will trip over the Word,
Ignoring the things they have heard;
And so they decide to refuse,
To believe it and will abuse.
But people who belong to God,
Do know how to honor and laud;
For you where called into the light,
Since you found favor in His sight.
