 Recesses of Me
words in the dark
where do they lead
following the syntax
the brain sows the seeds
hunting
a limping trail
of emotions
its
a bulimic's purge
a castaway's dirge
of hope
yes
I'm throwing out
the heaving rope
onto the ocean
onto the sea
and maybe I'll
find
some scope
some landscape
some island
a redefined
solitariness
amongst the shredding twine of me
words
a lifeline
words
a comfort
a buffering blanket
but
unlike a bed
a place a hollow
to bury
or smother
a weary
mortal head
words in the dark
denting a page
disturbing
a mind
overdeveloped and undisciplined
carnivorous thoughts
exposed
writhing vulnerable
for those who will
for those who can
see
words in the dark
recesses of me

Meloo/Melissa A Howells  Tilt-A-World // Copyright 2010 Sept 15th, Tuesday early am.

I'm about to pick huckleberries with some friends for the first time in my life today.
Thought it was worth mentioning. Still trying to work on writing directly to the page. Go with
brain and write, then see what happens. Still living my life a la TILT-A-WORLD, but then,
to some degree, isn't everyone, be honest. Still using the cottonwood font...its symbolic.
A cottonwood tree is green wood...green wood doesn't burn, it just smokes.
