Wood Nymph
My Old Jeep
She has been driven hard
and put away wet.
Neighbors want me junk her
but I am not ready yet.
She can pull out tractors
and put 18 wheelers to shame.
She is famous in the Lowcountry
and Herneeda is her name.
Her need a tire change,
and her need a rest.
She winches bogged vehicles.
Farmers confess she is the best.
When God sends my bus
dig my hole very deep.
Put on my jeans and tennis shoes
and bury me in my jeep.
and put away wet.
Neighbors want me junk her
but I am not ready yet.
She can pull out tractors
and put 18 wheelers to shame.
She is famous in the Lowcountry
and Herneeda is her name.
Her need a tire change,
and her need a rest.
She winches bogged vehicles.
Farmers confess she is the best.
When God sends my bus
dig my hole very deep.
Put on my jeans and tennis shoes
and bury me in my jeep.
