From the Heart Through the Pen

No Longer A Believer

Black is the absence of light
White is the absence of memory
The color of can't remember
--- Stephen King

In this black and white world I dwell
With tons of stories
Yet no words to spill
On the edge and below is hell
Got tons of stock
With no time to sell

Isn't it funny
Got here cause I was sold right out
After spending the whole night out
Weathered the storm...rode the tide out
She says not only of mind but also of sight out

Now I'm on this bus
Staring at some woman
The after effects of being drunk
Crazy this realization
Maybe I'm not this perfect human
The worst thing I've ever thunk

Open close, open close
My fist clenches
Up goes the walls as I brace
Coming next are my defenses
Disguised pretty well
By the smile on my face

Eyes hidden by shades
Feelings evaporate with speed
She's amazed
Thought I'd be back with wants and needs
Unaware I put them with that genie
Unaware it'll take but a wish to set it all free

Unaware I not only forgot her
But forgot also me
Suddenly my world is illumine-scent
Done with the woe is me tragedy
Done acting like a teen...prepubescent
It's official...I've given up
No longer a believer in...Heaven Sent
