 Escape From Colditz

Crawling under the theatre stage
Drop through the hole in the ceiling
Pat Reid has made
Creep down the dark corridor in stockinged feet
Pick the lock on the door
We dare not breathe
Down the stairs
The guards are there
Through the courtyard
Under the gaze
Of the enemy
No time to spare
Out of captivity
Through the picket gate
Down the steps to the dry moat
We make our escape

On 5th January 1942 Lieut. Airey Neave made the first successful British escape
from the Prisoner of War Camp at Colditz Castle (Oflag IVC) together with the Dutch officer Tony Luteyn, both disguised as German officers.
