The beauty that our poor heart's will keep

Still questioning the reasons of beauty and sunlight
when so much darkness in man's heart shines through
humanity seems no more than a gesture of friendship
seeing that it is bloodshed and battles men choose
fouls words and green trees,
flowers still growing…
pathways now littered with crime
bright lights still calling to the brave hearts among us
while the poor man waits silently in line.

Springtime so beautiful all the new life still growing
while the battle fields claim ever more souls
lost loves and true loves curl up closely together
before the love in their hearts turns so cold
the truth only truthful if no man has spoke of
for the lies that we weave spread to deep
only the beauty of sunlight and the flowers of nature
will be the beauty that our poor hearts will keep.
