MY BABIES AND ME

MY BABIES AND ME

Wrapped in boredom on a warm summer's day
My mind a vapored attic of solitary play
Thoughts in a bottle, what would I say
A sailboat of words afloat on the bay

*```````````````*

The sand felt of velvet underneath our feet
I found an old log where we sat to eat
Should I be presumptuous, or a bit discreet?
I penned Incognito; my ink stains complete

*```````````````*

The babies were with me, walking side by side
Rosy cheeked guys; they loved the outside
The young girl in me was brimming with pride
We danced and sang with the roll of the tide

*``````````````*

Hello to you stranger, across oceans of blue
It's my babies and me with a message or two
Can you send back a greeting; a hello will do
We'll come back someday, and look for you
                                                   My Babies
                                                                  And Me
