In the Prose of Passion

If I Were to Die This Evening

If I were to die this evening
Go quietly in my sleep
I'd hope that my whole family
Would rejoice instead of weep

For my life has been fantastic
I've been blessed by God above
I know I'm very thankful
To been graced with so much love

He has blessed me with a family
Three children and a wife
I couldn't be more happy
I wouldn't trade my life

And friendships are abundant
As many as the stars
Though some are at a distance
They are close inside my heart

If my Savior comes to take me
Before I say goodbye
I hope that you'll forgive me
And I hope that you won't cry

For you know I'll be rejoicing
With the Father; Holy Ghost
I'll be feasting at the table
With my Savior as the Host
