A Christmas PrayerO Father up in Heaven, Who all life has been given; We praise You what you have done, In the giving of Your Son. The burst of an infant cry, Mother with a happy sigh; Penetrating through the night, As a star above shined bright. For Your love has filled my life, That overpowers the strife; With the joys of Christmastime, As I hear the church bells chime. The bells announces the birth, Giving a new peace on earth; While a star giving hope, Opens up with a new scope. For love came down within sight, In needing a guiding light; So a manger for a king, As angels began to sing. It gives us transformation, Into a new creation; That we shall truly receive, Rebirth if we do believe. Copyright © 2010 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
