 Prison
Obesity is like a prison, a bad place,
confined and no where to go;
Surrounded by barriers and bad influences,
 suppressing the good that fails to grow.

Barely seeing and experiencing true life,
as it pass you by each day.
Stricken with grief and pain
and in private you secretly cry and pray.

Reflecting on how one got this way,
those opposing have all the answers you see.
Yet for them still not having an accurate clue of the obese reality.

Opposing the obesity factor and your existence,
assessing it due to greed and unhealthy foods.
They love insulting and degrading these ones
keeping them in a demeaning mood.

The obese can fall to such vices
not always deliberate though many feel that's not true.
The obese is accused of deliberately eating all the time.
That's what people say they do.

Obesity is a disorder
and a product of numerous issues too.
An attack on ones body medically,
this fact is certainly true.

Like an on and off switch
it's not that way.
It's the peeling back layers of life stresses
the professionals would say.

Obesity could have been thrusted upon you
at the beginning of ones life.
When others were in control with limited knowledge,
 not realizing your potential strife.

Habits and traditions throughout your life too;
not noticing the change in ones body,
distracted by hidden emotional pain, it's true.

Many times the obese doesn't realize this fact.
 They take life each day as it comes.
Years may go by before they deal with this issue,
hiding behind different faces rather than succumb.

Then there are times it's not about food
or just eating much too much.
It could be heredity or a physical flaw
and medications have been proven as such.

Of course with determination and effort,
these changes can be made.
It's no easier for the obese
without encouragement and aid.

Most times it's much too late
before you realize you've crossed the line;
from a carefree life to your self contained prison
having anguish permeating your mind.

This self contained prison is an unfortunate thing,
becoming desperate not knowing what to do.
With most of the world and situations against you,
 you only see your life as through.

How ironic it is when the obese is content
and say they are happy and satisfied.
The moment they find the key to their weight loss success,
 then you realized how much to you they've lied.

Many have been duped by persons like these,
which was their way to cope and deal at that time with their plight.
 Rather than to help work at the solutions
they glamorized being overweight as alright.

Then you have businesses creating pills, drinks and foods
taunting the obese obsess.
Taking advantage of their critical plight
only for their monetary success.

How sad it is to be ones prey
a road that's been traveled a lot.
To muster up strength with exercise, water and good diet,
is truly the best and healthiest shot.

The goal can be accomplished though it seems like a dream;
remember dreams can certainly come true.
That self contain prison can release you
but the choice is still up to you.
