The Promise of God
Six days we go do our best,
But on the seventh day we rest;
As we go to enter a place,
That God will bless and shed His grace.
Then no one will be lost that day,
As those who refuse to obey;
Written throughout the Word of God,
To whom that we honor and laud.
His Word is active and living,
Showing mercy and forgiving;
Sharper than a double edge sword,
As it cuts deeply for the Lord.
God judges both your thoughts and deeds
Your rationale of wants and needs,
Even though you may circumvent;
He does know every intent.
Not a single creature can hide,
Nothing that is down deep inside;
All is uncovered and exposed,
No matter how your mind is closed.
We have to answer onto Him,
For actions no matter how grim;
So go to the throne and confess,
And the Lord God will surely bless.
