A Wise Son versus the Foolish One

A wise son makes his father glad,
While a foolish one makes him sad;
And he will despise his mother,
As well as sister and brother.

The foolish son will build a fence,
Since his life does not make much sense;
Stupidity to him is fun,
And will laugh when able to shun.

He does not know how to mature,
Since temptation will always lure,
Away from what is good and right,
Into darkness far from the light.

He cannot start to forge ahead,
Sleeping all day and night in bed;
And when finally is awake,
He feels as though all will forsake.

Without advice his plans go wrong,
And will not ask since too headstrong;
Knowing it all not ask for aid,
Because down deep he is afraid.

For very down deep inside,
He has a sense of boastful pride;
Which causes him an attitude,
In being arrogant and rude.

But God will take care in the end,
Since His judgment knows where to send;
For Heaven is no place to dwell,
As a fool should reside in hell.
