Pre-occupied is what we get
And what we`re doing we forget,
We could be talking, but about what? Our mind`s elsewhere so really we`ve forgot.
We nod, we smile, a yea and a nay
We hope with this we can get away,
Because really we don`t have a clue
You could be talking on any issue.
Appearance wise, we seem to be there
Maybe we are, but our mind`s elsewhere,
It just wanders off all on its own
Sometimes we seem to be home alone.
It soon comes back when we answer wrong
And found not listening causes a ding-dong,
We say, `Sorry I didn`t hear what you said`
When really our mind was elsewhere instead.
This is probably our everyday life
It causes stress and a lot of strife,
Not enough time and too much to do
That`s my excuse! how about you?
