BREAK
...And so I realize
I am empty
To say that I am
exhausted
unexpressed
Stretched thin
like a rose petal
covering a heavy boulder
"That is an understatement"
Words have evaded me
as my smile
I feel barren
like that of
dead planets
I've traveled
within my intricate mind
to luminous places
galaxies
parallel worlds
I have fed off visions
I've drank from goblets
and danced with romance
touched beautiful things
and almost loved
I have flown
thru the universe
maneuvering space debris
Wander has surrounded
my stage
Aimless has found me
and she is forceful
I beg her to let loose
she dooms me spent
For now...
I have known all along
we are just specks
or just wrinkles
in this porthole of existence
We can expire
at any given moment
...And now I tire
holding piles of empty pens
and dead flowers
Seems my quest
has failed me
as I stumble
trying to compose
The door of pause
has opened
we enter and sleep
The season of rest
approaches
within her sad veil
We are two steps
from death
and one from tomorrow
Beside our slumber
new budding wild flowers
will rise strong
unfurling life
Call it a break
from this fond cycle
or better reviving circle
...And we will be found
inside each seed
surviving
waiting
to recover
