Poetic-Verses

'' When Your Clock Will Chime ''

As I'm nearing the end of life's long road,
I will down sit and write a letter,
I don't think I've any guilt to offload,
but maybe I could've done better.

The problem with my dilemma is,
life's rules are hard and fast,
if there were things in my life amiss,
I can't change them they're now in the past.

It's the same with an argument or even a tiff,
when we refuse to apologise,
a tragedy occurs we use that word ‘'IF ‘',
then end up with tears in our eyes.

Bitterness and revenge are one and the same,
only malice and hatred will ensue,
after the fact you will only feel shame,
the only one hurting will be you.

To prevent these feelings coming your way,
do things now or it may bring you sorrow,
if you want to say sorry do it today,
for there may not be a tomorrow.

That is the problem with life in the main,
be prepared to take any flak
if you think before you inflict any pain,
then you can always find your way back.

Yes life was made for living,
but did I really care much for others,
or was I selfish and unforgiving,
lies and deceit are what smothers.

Can I honestly say I've done my best,
have I looked after others as well,
or will all those issues I never addressed,
ensure my confinement in Hell,

That is reason you must be aware,
while you're growing till the day you die,
if you've went through life even trying to care,
then your memory no one can decry.

I'd better get on with my letter now,
before I receive that call,
in it I will try to tell you how,
by your actions you will stand or fall.

The clock of life has a mind of its own,
it won't warn you of when it's your time,
if good comes out of those seeds you have sown,
you needn't worry,
