Faith Directs Our Lives
Because we are compassed about,
A cloud of witnesses that doubt;
We have to get rid of the frown,
And anything that slows us down.
Especially temptations of sin,
This just might corrupt us within;
Not just distracting but could lure,
Us wrong and into a detour.
We have to go and run the race,
For upon us God has shed His grace;
Not giving up what lies ahead,
For our faith has kept us fed.
Focus on Christ the source and goal,
Of our faith for our soul;
Jesus saw joy ahead of Him,
Not even once did He feel grim.
So He endured death on the cross,
Which took on His life for a loss;
But ignored the disgrace it brought,
Nor emotionally distraught.
Then the throne on high was given,
For the highest place in Heaven;
Seated on the right hand of God,
Where we will go honor and laud.
Think of Christ, who endured sinners,
So we could all become winners;
Not to get tired nor give in,
To the temptations filled with sin.
