Speak Wisely
Some of you should not be teachers,
Since you are not able to teach;
While others are not preachers,
Because the Word you cannot preach.
The time will come that God will judge,
And judging misquotes on His Word;
That might have been a little smudge,
For the hearsay that you have heard.
All of us make many mistakes,
To err is human to define;
But the Lord will never forsake,
Because forgiveness is divine.
If you did not make a mistake,
Then you would really be perfect;
Able to could easily make,
Argue with those who contradict.
In time of war the same with ships,
The notion of even a wink;
Some words from the tongue just might slip,
Causing one of the ships to sink.
With our tongues we give out praise,
Giving the Lord a solemn vow;
Then lips of lust will go ablaze,
With words spoken as curse and foul.
Curses and praises should not be,
From the same set of lips and tongue;
And so judgment then they will see,
The fire lake they should be flung.
