'' Myself When Young ''
As I look across my darkened room,
Someone's following me,
it's the same wherever I turn to,
who's this person that I see.
She's glamorous and beautiful,
so slender and so sleek,
but I just can't get close to her,
who is the one I seek.
She is there when I awaken,
so deep within my head,
I really hope we'll meet quite soon,
in the coming days ahead.
Could it be I know her well,
if I only had a clue,
I'm sure her face I recognise,
will I ever see this through.
I feel I know her presently,
as well as long ago,
she reminds me of those days gone by,
when my life was in full flow.
Fancy clothes and beautiful cars,
nights out with vintage wine,
how I wish I was young again,
for those days I'll always pine.
I really need to find her soon,
as life's clock is ticking fast,
I need to find out who she is,
is she someone from my past.
My life is almost over now,
I feel so overawed,
will I ever meet this person,
before I'm judged by God.
I say a prayer to ask for help,
please give me some direction,
the Good Lord says look closer,
it is but your own reflection.
I like to give you all a chance,
to look at life gone by,
for in my Kingdom of Heaven,
no-one will ever die.
She is lying down beside me now,
as Heavens bells are rung,
that person I've been looking for,
is,
