A Thankful Spirit
Do not get too carried away,
By unfamiliar things each day;
The things that should always be sought,
Are what Jesus Christ has taught.
Gaining inner strength is the key,
For increasing insight to see;
For the kindness of God is good,
So His wisdom is understood.
This strength is from following rules,
Those that do not are merely fools;
Who are just arrogant and rude,
And do not want spiritual food.
I am talking about the bread,
The body of Christ that He fed;
To His disciples on that night,
Before the cross in the daylight.
Through Jesus we should always bring,
Our cross with us that we cling;
As a sacrifice we should praise,
And raised voices to God always.
Remember to show of your love,
Even to the strangers thereof;
Doing good for others to share,
A spirit of Christian warm care.
You should keep a thankful spirit,
Remembering you inherit;
A life that is as eternal,
Which will avoid the infernal.
