Debt Paid in Full
You did not want to sacrifice,
Burnt offerings or a nice lamb;
But let the Son to pay the price,
Of the great Almighty I Am.
You have allowed yourself to sin,
Doing whatever you well please;
Which has made you corrupt within,
Refusing to get on your knees.
Sacrifice is what Moses taught,
Because of having disobeyed;
But still it is God you have sought,
Though the relationship has frayed.
Sacrifices God did away,
Just compliance He desires;
As you put your trust and obey,
Through Him in all that transpires.
Sacrifices could not rid sin,
Because it would always remain;
And with the lack of discipline,
Death will accompany the pain.
But all because of Jesus Christ,
He could rid the sin forever;
Through one time being sacrificed,
Such an act that would not sever.
So this is the new covenant,
Which is through the body and blood;
With a bond to be permanent,
Purified in the crimson flood.
