Humility and Love
Put to death the worldly in you,
And just keep Heaven in your view;
Temptation will light desire,
So you need to douse the fire.
Perversion and sexual sin,
Passion and lust corrupts within;
Worshipping wealth is caused by greed,
And likes to grow just like a weed.
Those are things that will anger God,
Honoring idols that are fraud;
And you are refusing to obey,
Causing you in going astray.
You used to live the sinful life,
Then wondered why you had much strife;
You angered as hot tempers flare,
Obscene language with truth or dare.
Do not lie to one another,
Treat other men as your brother;
Remembering always forgive,
Is the life that you need to live.
You are a new person in Christ,
Humbled with the love sacrificed;
That gives you a new frame of mind,
And will make you patient and kind.
Let the Word of Christ dwell inside,
So you are able to abide;
With all the wisdom that He taught,
Which gives you the answers sought.
