An Exhortation to Obedience
Remember what you have been taught,
And not forgetting of the laws;
Keep the commandments in your thought,
So you do not develop flaws.
For they will bring you a long life,
To lengthen your days into years;
And help you to avoid the strife,
Giving you peace and calm your fears.
Remember of mercy and truth,
Remain attached onto your heart;
Not letting the days of your youth,
Allow them to ever depart.
God will find favor and will bless,
Good understanding in His sight;
Which will be creating success,
While remaining in the light.
Trust the Lord with all of your heart,
Not relying on your wisdom;
God will be able to impart,
Knowledge to you from His kingdom.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And the Lord will direct your path;
As He keeps you from feeling grim,
While sparing you from the wrath.
Never consider yourself wise,
But remember to fear the Lord;
Look not at evil with your eyes,
Rather let God to be adored.
