Justice ii

They said he was a killer,
didn't deserve to live,
they gave him the penalty
only the state could give.
They strapped him to a gurney
watched by his victim's wife
and dripped poison in his veins
to slowly take his life.

Three years the appeals had taken.
All that time he could never know
when they'd finally take him
from his cell on death row.
This is the situation now
in parts of the USA;
welcome to America
and you all have a nice day.

While over in Iran just now in
 search for justice and truth
they'll maybe acid blind a criminal,
eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.
Both punishments for violence
but I feel it so ironical and sad
that the crime and the justice
both seem really just as bad.
