Trust and Sadness
The heart knows its own bitterness,
Emotions causing wickedness;
No stranger can share in its joy,
For it desires to destroy.
A wicked house will be destroyed,
For the pleasures they have enjoyed;
Are never spiritually right,
Refusing to step into the light.
While the righteous shall flourish,
For in the Word they will nourish;
Throughout the night and in the day,
They have learned to trust and obey.
There is a way that does seem right,
Even when people may lose their sight;
The joy taken during each breath,
But eventually ends in death.
Even while a laughing heart,
Just might ache while to impart;
Joy still maybe end up in grief,
Even having a firm belief.
A heart can turn away from God,
No worship with honor and laud;
And becomes bored in its own way,
As temptations causes to stray.
But the righteous are satisfied,
Because they know the crucified;
And understand God and His ways,
Who will get them through any maze.
