Tethers

A Grave is just a monument
That tethers you to earth
But you carry in your mind
What a relationship was worth
For a loved one is
Never truly dead
So long as there are
Those memories in your head
A grave will just anchor you
Keep you there
But your memories
Travel with you anywhere
So file me in your memory
Set my remains on fire
Nothing really spectacular
Don't need a Viking pyre
Then with a slice of luck
I can travel far and wide
If you throw my ashes in the
Wind on a nice breezy hillside
And not tethered to a piece of
Earth you can go where you will
And maybe looking through
Your eyes I'll be with you still
