Baby steps come into play
when hello:beautiful autumn comes to say,
and altho she's too young to walk on her own
from Faron Lee Lil' JaiLee a way will be shown.
She'll walk w/angelic baby steps
and i'll still crawl thru autumn's depths,
a journey i once easily walked thru
but walking is something i forgot how to do.
Still autumn will waltz in my life even so
as on my way i painfully go,
on a path of endless lonely miles
that i'll greet with no more smiles.
We would often dance
to autumn's beauty couldn't miss the chance,
in fact we met in autumn 1981
how glorious it shown on me the sun.
From our last dance i kept a leaf so golden
i'll take it to heaven where i'll be holdin,
holdin My Most Beautiful Fall Guy Faron
i'll rise up and walk to him.
He would with such pleasure take the fall
whenever a bad seed came to call,
instead he would plant in its place beauty to behold
no other heart could ever be as gold.
Thru my remaining years
i'll cry golden tears,
to show the love that will 4ever rain
from my heart leaving it never the same.
