From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
Emerald City

She greeted me with a smile and a hello
Asked if I had a pleasant ride
Told me she'd be my tour guide
Do her best to make me at home
Knew it was hard to be new in town
My eyes briefly met hers
Then I glanced around

Straight ahead was the sea
Never saw such a view
Raced down the beach taking off our shoes
Crystals in the sand; waves crashing
Right where we stand
The sun at its highest peak
Rays made the scene so serene

Café around the corner
So we stopped for a bite to eat
Live band began to play
As we took our seats
Good background music for our conversation
What more could we ask
Didn't realized how much time passed

We make our way down the streets
Witnessed people dancing in them
Looked down at my feet
Roses growing out of concrete
So I took a few of them
Placed them around her heart
A spark came when I touched her skin

She smiled
A feature so innocent
The feelings that would follow
I knew were imminent
Began to feel its intensity
Sweet, the look she was giving me as she said
Welcome to Emerald City

Back to her smile and that hello
It was then and there she had me
When our eyes met and I saw them lips
I've been trapped ever since
Not looking to be set free
Just where I could go
To get back to where one day I'll fall madly

If you multiply hers by four
Then you'll have mine
Krazy ain't it
Beauty I see with my eyes closed
Could You Imagine if I opened it
Hard not to be so descriptive
When it comes to her
Emerald City I tell ya
Don't believe me
Wait till you go on the tour
