Drive To Work...

A night's silence
Is some times worth a day's noise

A day's noise nerves you to the edge
Of a reality that challenges your sanity

And you wonder if compassion has any place
In a world where you had to jockey for a place
At the gas pump on your way home from work.

Your car drinks the gasoline taken from the earth
And while you sleep dreams of waltzes with carriages
Pulled by horses with tears in their eyes

And when you wake, the beautiful horses are gone
And your gasoline carriage waits in the drive way
To drive you work
