A Relationship with God
This is the message we have heard,
And reported in the living Word;
God is light no darkness within,
Completely pure and free from sin.
If we have a relationship,
With God but only from the lip;
Then we lie as we still embark,
Because we still live in the dark.
We do not tell the truth and sin,
With being corrupted within;
Because of being such a fool,
Allowing the darkness to rule.
Rather if we live in the light,
Then we have been blessed in His sight;
As we give Him honor and laud,
In our fellowship with God.
A fellowship with the Father,
Means fellowship with the Brother;
For we will have become as one,
With both the Father and the Son.
The blood of the Son cleanses sin,
That has corrupted us within;
Then we can say that we are pure,
If the Son has given the cure.
Only if we confess our sin,
Can the relationship begin;
A faithful God will forgive,
For in the light that we can live.
