Minding the Word
How can a young person be pure?
Constantly tempted with a lure;
Just if he holds what he has heard,
As written in the Holy Word.
The Word will not let him astray,
Going out wandering away;
Sort of like a little lost sheep,
Who at night roams off in the deep.
Rather treasure it in your heart,
Keep reciting as to impart;
And committing to memory,
All of that the Lord does decree.
Then you must remain pure within,
No longer even think of sin;
The door to your heart keep it locked,
So that the sin is always blocked.
Give the Holy Spirit a key,
So He can go into and see;
Checking if any sin did sneak,
When your faith maybe had been weak.
Thanks to the Lord who taught the laws,
And forgive us to cure the flaws;
Find the joy what He is giving,
Helping you through each day living.
Every day as you abide,
Let His written Word be your guide;
His written instructions bring joy,
And not intended to destroy.
Never forget of His Word,
Being mightier as the sword;
God will smite you if you neglect,
So continue to show respect.
