I have pencilled you
In lines of garbled thoughts
Of warm days
With a profusion of dreams
They stare back at me
Lines etched
Graphite grey on white paper
Haphazard lines
Zig zagging in all directions
I try to follow them
Find a straight route
From where I am
To you
But you are gone now
I have come home
And turning a corner
And over the page
I pencil you
