put a band-aid on your forehead
it might make them wonder
put a band-aid on your forehead
just see how it goes
all of the questions
the puzzled looks unanswered
i was struck down by lightening
after the thunder
it made me fall (point)
put a band-aid on your forehead
it might make them wonder
put a band-aid on
then take a shower in your clothes
if they ask
say you were simply reading the label
you were simply seeing if it says exactly as it goes
wash and wear must have some kind of meaning
if it doesn't then why is it there
all of the questions
the puzzled looks unanswered
maybe they'll start questioning
maybe they'll start looking into the mirror
maybe they'll put band-aids on their foreheads
start seeing things differently all on their own
why not try...
putting a band-aid on your forehead
in the morning
why not try...
taking a shower in your clothes
every day
feel what its like to live a life
full of questions and curiosity
lots of noses noodging and nudging
nesting in places that aren't theirs to play
so, still, why not
put yourself out there
each and every morning
why not
put yourself out there
each and every day
play and wear
the band-aid and the special clothes
that call attention
and be so glad
you are this way!
(thank you for teaching me)
This idea came straight from Buddy. This is not the "simple" poem it seems to be.
B said to me, "Put a band-aid on your forehead...so I did."
This poem is dedicated to "my someone" who dares to live out loud.
You are the Minstrel of my heart.

I'm looking for the color orange as a theme and it isn't here, neither are polka dots nor
paisleys...somethings not right about this.
