Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Depart From Me
With quiet reverence and soul numbing awe
I plead the case of how my earthly life makes
me worthy of entering into the pearly gates before
the mighty King. I recite every noble deed and good
word spoken quietly proclaiming every positive
action taken upon the earth. And after silently
listening to my every word He gently speaks and
asks a single question of me: "Did you ever accept
My Son and ask Him into your life?" With a horrible
sadness I confess that I had not done so and look
into His gentle eyes and see the look of dismay as
He says to me: "Depart from me you sinful man you are
not worthy to enter into the doors of Heaven for
you don't know My SON."
