A Period of Testing
You know what happened to the crowd,
While they were under the cloud;
All of them had gone through the sea,
United they were thankfully.
Times were rough but in a good mood,
They ate the same spiritual food;
While to God that they had to thank,
From the spiritual rock they drank.
They drank from the spiritual stone,
Which happened to be Christ alone;
Even though they were really rude,
They were given heavenly food.
God was not pleased with most of them,
And wanted to merely condemn;
As dead bodies scattered the land,
For not obeying His command.
Because evil things they put their trust,
For the desires that they lust;
False gods and their sexual sin,
Corrupted purity within.
For there are times that God forsakes,
When so many were killed by snakes;
And should not be a mystery,
If we have learned from history.
Never try to trick or to jest,
By putting the Lord to the test;
The angel of death might arrive,
And you are no longer alive.
Do not ever complain or gripe,
Or on earthly things start to hype;
You have the power to resist,
As to eternally exist.
