From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
Just About Gone

Said it'd be three till you found ecstasy
But it's going on five
As you're laying next to me
What you have here is just about gone
Words you tell me
How do I respond
From the beginning I recognized real eyes
Never realized they were full of real lies
Thought to be in Heaven on Earth
Paradise like a pair of dice
Late was the warning beware your snake eyes
Thought I was a charmer
And could get past those defenses
Never knew just how relentless you were
So to you I admit I was wrong
And what you have here is just about gone
Yet since my heart you stole
The wicks deep in our souls
Have been waiting to fulfill their role
Waiting for those gorgeous crystals to strike mine
And watch a magnificent flame ignite
Told you I yearn to stir your passions
Whether it be intellectual or sexual
They share a common goal
Trying to make it become habitual
You've lost your way
And I've shown you the path
You refuse to do the math
And I can't solve this equation without you
Maybe it's just common stubbornness
And the real reason why you can't find X is cause
What we have here is just about gone
