 The Vietnam Scar

It's been over forty years,
many have died since then.
A slow death , victims of Agent
Orange, and wounds of the heart
and mind from Vietnam, in over time.

Few remember, and fewer care,
Forty years of horror, ours to bear.
We were all there, and we shall always care.

Like an albatross, around our neck,
shadows of war, ours alone to bear,
this ugly Vietnam scar.
