Angel of the moonless night,
I was set aside for you
Before space was black
And high above our blue-green world
Galaxies
With their assembly of stars and planets
Rotate in the color of your eyes
You hold me in your gaze
And I cannot stand
Your touch is merely
One facet of a priceless diamond
Hidden in an unassuming pawn shop
About to be discovered,
To burst forth and demonstrate
The rarity and awe created
From the deepest, darkest parts
Of your being
Angel of the moonless night
You make your own darkness
But how you shine when I find your eyes
You demand my voice, my laughter
I demand your faithfulness, your strength
But we cannot agree--
One blasphemes the other
So we are doomed to have neither
And are stripped of each other
The gravity and warmth we gave each other
Are replaced by the cold weightlessness
Of outer space
Trapped in a prison of rejection
Sentenced by betrayal to destructive distrust
It all leads to the death of something beautiful
And grief for the loss of what once filled my heart
I heard the shout of warnings in my mind
Trying to steer me from
Oblivious depths of the past
From which I could not emerge
Still I had no choice
But to walk into your tantalizing lair
from Mythos
