Good ProvidenceWho really understands anger, When the Lord would pour out His wrath; For it would feel so much stronger, As it would be crossing your path. A person fears it even more, Understanding of His fury; After they are caught by a lure, And God is the judge and jury. We need Him to teach us each day, So that we may grow in the wisdom; So we are not going astray, But training us for His kingdom. How long do you think it shall be, Before that day He will arrive; And all of the graves you will see, Once more the dead will be alive. We must be satisfied each day, With His mercy as well as grace; As we joyfully praise and pray, In preparing us for His place. So let us see what we can do, As His children see His power; Lifting us up with each day through, Till arrival of the hour. Allow the kindness of the Lord, Make us fruitful with voice and hands; Never letting it be ignored, Everything that He commands. Copyright © 2011 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
