The Minor HeirBecause an heir is a child, He is no better than a slave; Though owning all that stockpiled, It will be lost reaching the grave. He is placed under the control, Until set time by the father; A person who retains your soul, Usually an older brother. So that is why God sent His Son, Since we are slaves here on this earth; Whenever our time is done, We inherit through a rebirth. A woman gave birth unto Him, Under the control of the laws; At a time when things look dim. But He grew up having no flaws. God sent Him to pay for freedom, Of those as captives by the laws; Preparing them for His kingdom, Even though they had some flaws. What God did so He could embrace, Us as His children to be heirs; Along with His mercy and grace, Forgiving us because He cares. So then no longer are we slaves, Because we are children of God; And no longer staying in graves, But Heaven bound to praise and laud. Copyright © 2011 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
