A FORTNIGHT

or=black>A FORTNIGHT

From the window, she stares idly at the pearly moon
Mystical snow flakes sketch vanishing faces
Imaginary creatures whisper from orphic places

Dreams walk as Pegasus wishes and windup thoughts
Pragmatism struggles deeply within her soul
A vortex of indelible memories twist their own role

Mental synthesis, reality erased, why is she restless
She seeks guidance; where should she be
Exit roads curve into unknown venues 1, 2, and 3

Kept by bits and pieces of life long preservatives
She thinks of home with its bright cheery walls
Apple pie scents and long distance calls

Mentally, she steps lithely toward sunshine beach
She exhales the rocky edges from yesterday's fright
Pastel simplicity, oceans blue, tranquillity, this fortnight

Une quinzaine
