Poetic-Verses

'' The Law You Must Not Flout ''

I used to be a politician,
I was once a real high flyer,
Don't believe the M.I.5,
I'm not a bloody liar.

I'm looked on as a hero,
For opposing that unjust tax,
What they didn't know is I paid it all,
While they struggled I could relax.

By listening to a guy like me,
Behind the ears they're wet,
For while I don't owe a thing,
They're still paying their debt.

I always swore throughout my life,
No allegiance to the crown,
But when I got the job in here,
Another lie went down.

While I was in parliament,
As a socialist M.S.P.
I earned so much money,
Life was bliss for me.

If you want to live like me,
You must save up quite a bit,
Pretend that you're a socialist,
Be a first class hypocrite.

My ''pals'' in my old party,
They're just a bunch of mingers,
Trying to say I went to clubs,
Which entertain old swingers.

The media then took me to court,
They just went on bleating,
My adoring public stood by me,
Didn't I give them a beating.

The media moguls and their ilk,
Continued to oppress,
They tried to say that I told lies,
Why do they cause me such duress.

Now when I go out my door,
I'll wear my cowl and cape,
For sure as hell the media,
Will have me caught on tape.

If they don't stop their blatant lies,
I'll build myself a fort,
Because I don't have the bottle,
To appear again in court.

I'll get in touch with M.I.5,
The C.I.A. and K.G.B.,
I'll tell them all to,
Come ahead, this is a conspiracy.

As an elected member,
I thought I couldn't be beat,
Now all this bad publicity,
Has made me lose my seat.

In hindsight now, oh how I wish,
That I'd remained a snob,
Now I have to do real work,
I'll need to find a job.

I'm a really honest socialist,
Their lies just make me crabbitt,
If they don't stop telling them,
I'll seek out Roger Rabbit.

I'll tell him lies just like gold,
Do not always glisten,
But after all the ones I've told,
He's the only one who'll listen.

I know I've conned my way through life
The lying I have mastered,
That is why I won my case,
Against the capitalist bastard.

Now that they are onto me,
It is no longer fun,
To read about the lies I've told,
My political career is done.

I even asked my mates to lie
I asked my wife as well,
Luckily they been proved innocent,
But they're going to give me hell.

I had to prove my innocence,
So I needed them to lie,
Now I've been charged with perjury,
How I wish that I could die.

The case is over I'm guilty as charged,
I'm now languishing in my cell,
I curse the judge and jury,
For putting me through this hell

I've tried so hard to hide the truth,
But in the end it all came out,
The moral of my story is,

‘' The Law You Must Not Flout ‘'
