I still long to be beyond the horizon
to sail once more as the sunset retreats
awakening afresh in a strange land of promise
learning of new things and all that they mean.
I still long to find the answers to questions
find inspiration from knowledge I gain
but the more that I learn the less likely an answer
searching for knowledge that leads only to pain.
I still long to live a life full of meaning
though each day that goes by, it still seems so far away
to build of my house a house full laughter
where the darkness of night knows the brightness of day.
