Imitate God
Wake up lazy sleeper,
And rise up from the dead;
Before the gatekeeper,
Locks you in your death bed.
Christ will shine upon you,
With His mercy and grace;
As His Spirit cleans through,
With a pardoned embrace.
Then careful how you live,
Not like foolish people;
Although God did forgive,
You easily stumble.
Walk like the wise people,
Those that you see serve God;
And follow the Gospel,
As you honor and laud.
Once you lived in the dark,
But you were filled with light;
And now when you embark,
Christ has given insight.
Your light shines out the good,
Because God does condone;
With favor how you should,
Think with Christ on your throne.
Imitate God each day,
And sing songs from your heart,
As you trust and obey,
Recite Psalms to impart.
