Each birthday I shoot a three point shot
Last year first try the pain I fought
Doc says double knee surgery
Threw away the crutches some don't agree
Each year it gets a little harder
Bend from each knee pain is the starter
Petticoat Dictator says read a book much smarter
This year it well be seventy four
Pain in the elbow I cannot always ignore
I remember when these shots drained pure and true
This year without legs it well take a try or two
The day I can't make you know my time is through
Grin bare it let it fly
If I don't make first time give it another try
So if you see this shadow in the darkened night
From beneath failing knees a ball in flight
This stubborn old fool won't give up the fight
So little faith did I have. Took Grandson to JV team
practice. Walked to the three point line. Let it go.
Ok, so it did bank in. I am shooting a thousand percent
after the age of 70. Four year in a row on first shot.
