Toward the Goal
Things that once had value,
Are now worthless to me,
Goals I use to pursue,
Now no purpose I see.
It is far more than that,
When I look at this earth;
Some are like a doormat,
Not thought of to have worth.
I am better off now,
Knowing Jesus my Lord,
Taking my solemn vow,
He will not be ignored.
Because of Him I think,
All earthly things worthless;
No longer smoke or drink,
Just want His blessedness.
So I have thrown away,
Things have been sacrificed;
As to not go astray,
In order to gain Christ.
So I do not feel grim,
Since I now live with less;
With a kinship with Him,
Knowing that He will bless.
A true relationship,
Within my faith through Christ,
Clothed for never to trip,
Never to be enticed.
