A Voice Cries Out
As a voice loudly cries out,
Far into the wilderness;
I heard the person shout,
Having no bitterness.
Let it not be ignored,
The time is coming soon;
Clear a way for the Lord,
When blood drips from the moon.
Stop laughing and show fear,
Construct a straight highway;
For the time now comes near,
So stop going astray.
The valleys will be raised,
And the mountains lowered;
As He needs to be praised,
While hearing His Word.
Steep places He will level,
Rough places He will smooth;
Judgment on the devil,
From earth God will remove.
The book that has been sealed,
Finally unfolded;
Its secrets are revealed,
On how all was molded.
His glory we will see,
As it shines forever;
Covering both you and me,
Not dry up or whither.
