Moved on

Once more Mothers day brings into focus the realities of life
Remembering a mother passed
The mother of my children…
And how all to often we lose sight of that person we love or have loved dear
I lost my mother to cancer…
But also to the hard and brutal life that shadowed her and all of her children
Where all of her strength was used to defend us from an abusive husband and father
She had no strength left to love us all how we all needed to be loved
Each in our own way
Each that would see rise a bright and cheerful day
If only…
I lost my wife long before we married…
The rules I had learnt were tainted with hate and anger
Passed on through a life time of torture
Passed on through a life time of fear
Until I had become that which I hated the most
Remembering Mothers day brings me back
Having moved on so very very long ago.
