Facing Temptation
Blessed are those who endure,
When being tested by a lure;
They are able to resist,
Temptations that do persist.
When they show they did their best,
And able to pass the test;
They will get a crown of life,
In the midst of any strife.
God has promised those who love,
Will be feted up above;
When they join Him on that day,
On the heavenly highway.
Let no one ever be lured,
Not spiritually secured;
Say not God is tempting them,
Or God will surely condemn.
Temptations from the devil,
Seducing you with evil;
For God is tempting no one,
Not the Father or the Son.
Satan likes to light fires,
That attracts your desires;
They lure you into a trap,
That then causes a mishap.
Oh such a stress and the strain,
The agony and the pain;
When you are pregnant within,
Preparing a birth for sin.
Then you will feel the sin grow,
Nurturing it with each woe;
Then finally the last breath,
When it gives new birth of death.
